The Bridges Thursday Men’s League
The Bridges Thursday Men’s League is open to Season Pass Holders as well as the public who would like to compete. Men’s League will meet every Thursday, June 18th through October 1. Rain or bad weather days will not be rescheduled. Guests of club members are invited to play if the field is not full.
Thursday Night Men’s League will have different available starting times of 10 am and 5:30 pm after COVID restrictions are lifted. So the 1st couple of weeks will be by tee time only set up by the players weekly. Players who wish to play in the 5:30 group MUST sign up by 5:30 pm Tuesday evening. The sign-up sheet for each starting time will be posted on the Men’s League bulletin board by the men’s bathroom. A free meal will be served on the 3rd Thursday of each month after the evening play.
The professional staff at The Bridges will make Pairings. Players may request a certain pairing for league play. We will make every effort to honor your pairing request. Please sign up as early as possible.
The format for Thursday Night League will be a Stableford Format. Players will use this format to accumulate points over the course of the season. There will be at least 20 point nights (weather permitting) of competition. Players will use their best ten (10) points totals. The player who accumulates the most points will be declared the Champion in each division. Seniors 65+ will compete from the Silver tees, the rest will compete from the White tees. This Season we will have the Players Flight that will be played from the Blue tees and play gross scores only if you would like to take the challenge. Gift certificates will be awarded the same way by percentages as all other league flights. If we don’t have enough signed up for the Players Flight we will move them back to their handicapped flight. The professional will use the scores to determine flights at the end of the season.
This season the Thursday Night League will be divided by flights. To help make the league more competitive and enjoyable, we have created different divisions. Those playing from the Silver Tees will be competing against each other, and those competing on the White tees will be playing against each other. The number of participants playing in the league will determine the number of flights. All money will be split proportionally based on the number of players in each flight. Flights will be determined at the end of the year.
The Bridges Men’s League rules are as followed:
The Bridges Men’s League will play according to USGA Rules, except when modified by local rules. Players will be able to improve their lie ”One scorecard length” through the green. If there is an unplayable area let the group decide.
Men’s League Members must sign and turn in scorecards for each league round.
All scores shot in events hosted by the league MUST be turned in following the round. Anyone not turning in a score will be subject to a penalty score.
Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) will be in place for all rounds. It is the players’ responsibility to make sure they adjust their score correctly before signing and returning. ESC has adjusted to your score accordingly:
The handicap of 0-9 can score no more than a double bogey on any hole.
The handicap of 10-19 can score no worse than 7 on any hole.
The handicap of 20 or higher can score no worse than 8 on any hole.
In an effort to speed up play, a maximum score of 8 for all handicaps 20 and higher will be enforced. If you know you can’t score better than an 8 or you know you will not be able to score any points on a given hole, please pick up and continue play on the next hole.
Any rules violations will be handled directly by the Bridges Golf Course Professional Staff.
Any players caught cheating or purposely turning in incorrect scores to impact their handicap will be dismissed from the league.
Tournament Prizes: All Men’s Club Event prizes will be paid out in Bridges Golf Course Gift Certificates. These certificates will be redeemable for merchandise only in Scotty’s Golf Shop.
